There is still people who love poetry. I'ts not being forgotten by everyone, and the people who it's being forgotten by don't really know what it's about or understand it. We write poetry to express ourself and use words that express feelings that we have. Poetry is beautiful and makes life actually worth living. Poetry is not lame.

Poetry isn't being forgotten. Even if it isn't the most popular thing right now, it will come back. Just like all of life, poetry has a cycle of high points and low points. The cycle usually lasts about 50 years with life (including the climate...global warming=over panic). Anyway, poetry will always be popular in the form of musical lyrics too.

Poetry is thriving. More poems are being published, and more publishers of poetry exist now than at any time in history.

It is good to know that you love poetry, and I do not think that is at all lame. There is always room for new poets.
