Can I submit short stories to the poetry site? Without blowing my own trumpet, but I need your advice. I submitted two short stories to the Books/Authors section and only received one reply. I believed that they were good stories but apparently they were only worthy of one reply from that section. To put my mind at rest, if any of you poets read them would you please tell me what was wrong with them. If for some reason you did not see them is it permissible to submit them via the poetry section? My respects to you all. Robert

Don't know why you can't. As long as any of us have you as a contact, that little blue icon shows up...and we can track you! (Rather like the Baker Street Boys, don't ya know!) Up to you I'd guess. Well, actually ought to have said, we can click on your Avatar and track you that way....I need more brew. Only a single reply? Hmmm, not entirely good.

I have taken this matter to the Board of Directors of the Poetry Section. It has been decided that prosaic submissions will incur severe chastisement, castigation, and contumely. Each violation puts 3 points on your Poetic License, which might cause the suspension, and then the revocation of your right to versify.* *Of course you realize that the above is a pile of horsefeathers. but it gave me the opportunity to say "contumely," which is one of my favorite words. So go to it!

This is probably not the best place to submit short stories. I have also written (and had published) several short stories, but this is a poetry site. I have only once submitted a short story online but was dissatisfied with the response, as you were.
