something of beauty
a sense of wonder
or misery.


I don't get it. Why won't words fit together for everyone, all the time? Why can't everything be poetry. Isn't it? Is it scansion, or topic, or flow that makes poetry? Something specific and evocative? Divergence from cliche?

The liquid trickles down my throat
and sends shivers down my body
a heavy scented breath exhaled
glow exuded from skin

The eyes roll back again
muscles relax and head hits pillow

Drained, to be filled for another day
the nostalgia of sleep
till the morning alarm

Shower and walk into work
Lunch break, chatty bar waitress

Work, rinse, repeat.
How many years more?

I plan to die young.
