Poetry contest?

So i entered a poem onto www.poetry.com because i wanted other people's feedback and such... so it had been on there for a few weeks and then i got an emial saying that i received the editors choice award.... The email SAID that they wanted to publish it, but i hardly think it was THAT good... I think it's pretty shifty, and this is probably a pointless question but... has that happened to anyone reading with this particular website?

I have had the same things happen to me, I have received numerous emails saying that I have received the editors choice and that my poem will be published, I even paid for the book and have yet to receive it. In my opinion, it is a sham. I am going to report them if I do not receive this book soon.

yes, i got a letter like that last year with some certificate. im not sure, i guess the best thing would be to wait til the volume comes out and go check the library for it

I use to write poetry a lot...and what you may think is garbage...is treasure to others...I would like to read your poem.....You probably inspired others..without even trying hard...that's a gift...Feel proud you won

I lost all hope with poetry.com awhile ago. I even had my poem published in their book and they said that it would appear in the library of congress, but I couldn't find it; and yes I did recieve an editor's choice award saying that my poem was a work of art but I figure they tell that to everyone, so if I were you I would go elsewhere for recognition.
