It would have to be Milton's Paradise Lost.
However, my best bet would be to give Annabella a hand carrying her 20 volumes. As I'm not fluid in French, we could then divide them up.

Mon Dieu, how could I choose? First, I would like to be able to read both in French and in English... Why choose Rimbaud over Shakespeare, and why choose Milton over Hugo?
And I would like to be able to read poetry from different periods. Why choose Sidney over Keats, and why choose Aragon over Donne?
And what about Homer? What about Celan? What about Dante? What about Virgil? What about Neruda?
So, I would choose "The Anthology of World Poetry both in French and English, from the Origins to the Present Times" (in 20 volumes).

EDIT: I tried... but to no avail... It would have to be something uplifting then, by Hugo. Probably Les Contemplations. I would have to borrow Gideon's Paradise Lost from time to time.
