It all depends on the mood the writer is in when he/she writes the poem

William Wordsworth(also known as the father of British Romanticism) said that poetry was "the spontaneous overflow of human emotion", so if you approach poetry in the Romantic (not romantic) viewpoint, then emotion is very much in tune with the subject matter of the poem and vice versa.

I fall into this pattern of writing, whenever I'm feeling a particular emotion very strongly, I will write about whatever I'm feeling passionate about, whether be music, the harmony of nature, loneliness, exhaustion, love, whatever.

Bottom line, it all depends on what I'm writing about

my mood changes as im writing the poem. for example when im angry and begin to write a poem, in the middle of the poem i might feel serene when a certain image or word strikes me, or i may be even more enraged while writing the poem. but at the end of the poem, if i feel ive written a good poem (meaningful or meaningless, but pleasing to my mind) i feel happy and contented and my anger would cease to exist.
i never feel the same writing different poems. humas are capable like animals of experiencing so many emotions that you cant put down your finger on one and say this is how i feel. that is where language becomes totally incapable of expressing reality. i feel great at the end of a poem if i think ive broken some of the constraints of language and expressed the technically unexpressable.
on the other hand when i feel ive not written a good poem(because i wasnt moved enough to write it or wasnt concentrating on the process of my cretion) i feel hardly anything, only a floating happiness that vanishes as soon as im off my chair.
