Please critique my poetry, its a first draft btw?

A man stands
Quiet and calm
Holding in hands
Some empty palms
Feet barefoot
In the river
Gave away his loot
Call him the giver
Content is he
Listening to her
Trickle freely
Scent of myrrh
Men came down
And said to him
Go into town
And see King
Teach him wise
And you will then find
The greatest prize
In return for your mind
The man stood firm
I will not go
There are no terms
Go tell him so.
The men said why
Please come see
Then he replied
Why should he?
The man was content
With his mud hut.
He said what he meant
And nothing but.
I am fine here
He said to them
I mean no meander
To the palace of Him.
Why great sage
Do you refuse?
Think of the wage
You could use.
The man stood still
I can do what I wish
My mind is at will
I only rely on fish.
I am not for his rent
I am just content.
