Life’s Swing

Grasping limbs loom over,
The tape starts;
Crimson skies cover deep patchwork,
Mind twirls round;
Sprawling, endlessly,
Valleys of thought
Back and forth, back and forth.

Grass spewing ocean waves
Racing to keep up;
Watercolors painted in the sky
Blurring, waving along.
Sunset,
A moment when twins exist
Time stays still,
But still you move,
Back and forth, back and forth

A place where humanity subsides
Time to be you,
Along with gusts of memories
Blowing over mountains
Flickering under tears,
Trickles of bellowing warmth
Hushes of mind
Pause

Voices echo enticing rock
Crazy, uncontrollable, reflections
Disturbing the music above
Thinking, deliberating, caution;
Suddenly ceasing,
Play

And then it’s done.
Night’s blanket enfolding over,
Skidding along, tucking Earth in.
The swing’s creaking ceases
Rewinding back to reality
Only to be repeated
Again, and again
Swaying,
Back and forth, back and forth.
