Quick question about poetry?

can someone tell me some reasons about why an author would want to remain annoymous?

Annoymous? ROTFLMAO!

An author might wish to be anonymous and not have their faces plastered all over so that they can go to the store for a box of powdered donuts in peace. They might wish to remain anonymous on the offhand chance their book is a complete failure. They might wish to remain anonymous if they are writing Chick Lit and their real name is Melvin Anderson.

That sort of thing.

I can give you some good reasons:

If you write a super-deep love poem to someone who you have always secretly loved, but you know they don't love you, you wouldn't want them to know who you were, would you? Kind of reasons like that. Maybe to see the reaction people get, or just to play with people's minds, anything could be accepted for a reason to be annonymous.

oo there are quite a few reasons with many varients, ill try to list a few...

1. censorship - you could get into real trouble for writing poetry, esp if you were are a woman/ethnic/poor etc. no one wud publish you

2. you dnt want to associate the poem with ur identity. keep it a secret from ur true love or dnt want anyone to know ur a fascist etc.

3. people just write things to put it out there, they can be one offs, everyday sayings, motos, philosophys, thoughts, diary entries, hymns etc.

4. we dont actually no hu wrote the poem lol
