| Poetry lesson help?!?
I am a first year teaching student in the UK, and I have to teach a lesson on poetry for a Year 2 class on Monday. It is based on the old framework; year 2 term 2. This is the first lesson for a two week block and I was wondering how I would teach this lesson? This is my first whole class lesson that I am going to be teaching, so I would like some thing easy for me to start off with. But any ideas at all would be good! I cannot think of any at all, which sounds really awful, but my mind just keeps going blank. Any help at all would be great, thanks! I know the same question was asked yesterday, but I still need help! |

Focus on a type of poetry i.e. shape poems, find some good examples and discuss the language i.e. a poem about snakes would have lots of sss sounds and be wrote in the shape of a snake, then ask the children to write their own based on an animal.
