Mohammed ?{Suspended} has a spectacular aura about
Is there anything wrong with this type of poetry?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnID1vVnMt_AAWdCDyFFyfPsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid =20080309125050AAFCxES

Because, there is a Hadith against poetry, but maybe in a different sense. There is also another Hadith that states poetry is wisdom. This type of poetry that we are doing is just playful and for our enjoyment, no harm intended.

These are the Hadith's:

Narrated By Ibn Umar:- The Prophet said, "It is better for a man to fill the inside of his body with pus than to fill it with poetry." Hadith 175 Sahih Bukhari
_ _

Narrated Buraydah ibn al-Hasib:

I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) say: In eloquence there is magic, in knowledge ignorance, in poetry wisdom, and in speech heaviness.
Sa'sa'ah ibn Suhan said: The Prophet of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) spoke the truth. His statement "In eloquence there is magic" means: (For example), there is a right due from a man who is more eloquent in reasoning than the man who is demanding his right. He (the defendant) charms the people by his speech and takes away his right. His statement "In knowledge there is ignorance" means: A scholar brings to his knowledge what he does not know, and thus he becomes ignorant of that. His statement "In poetry there is wisdom" means: These are the sermons and examples by which people receive admonition. His statement "In speech there is heaviness" means: That you present your speech and your talk to a man who is not capable of understanding it, and who does not want it.
Jazakallah both of you, that all makes sense, Insha'Allah I'll try to make more beneficial ones without wasting my time...

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Brother, Islam encourages its followers to be more creative, active and imaginative. There is nothing wrong in writing the type of poetry you mentioned. Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, supported Hassan ibn Thabit, the well-known Muslim poet who defended Islam and used (the Prophet) to say: “Say! And Gabriel supports you!”

A fatwa issued Sheikh `Atiyyah Saqr, former Head of Al-Azhar Fatwa Committee reads:

“There is no harm in writing fiction, be it stories or poems, as long as it is written for a good purpose or for brushing aside evil, like stories where animals speak as if they are humans or take on allegorical roles. The criterion here is that authenticated matters of the religion should be kept intact. Also, this writing should not be taken as a means to an evil end, and no evil consequence should result from this writing. In Islam, “harm should neither be inflicted nor tolerated” as is stated in the Hadith.

Some scholars, however, maintain that it is not allowed to write fiction. Their argument may be that such stories may contain falsified statements and thus are considered a waste of time. To them, these falsified statements lead to evil and should be avoided. They say that one should instead follow the manner of story telling used in the Qur’an.”

And personally, I loved the way you wrote your poetry. It is indeed an excellent, beautiful and creative art to do that so~!

Hope this helps.
Your brother in Islam

Edit: Wa Iyyakum

Romantic poetry is Haram but regular poetry is right. Lying is Haram. Most poets exaggerate which is haram

[Pickthal 26:220] Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower.
[Pickthal 26:221] Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?
[Pickthal 26:222] They descend on every sinful, false one.
[Pickthal 26:223] They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars.
[Pickthal 26:224] "As for poets", the erring follow them.
[Pickthal 26:225] Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley,
[Pickthal 26:226] And how they say that which they do not?
[Pickthal 26:227] Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned!

Some hadiths are fabricated too. Believe in Quran.

Here I found a fatwa on that:
http://askimam.org/fatwa/fatwa.php?askid=4986c53ac03d2dff1a59da981ccd6f01

"1) If the poetry is within the parameters of Shariah then it will be permissible, for example, it encompasses the oneness of Allah, His praises, encouragement to obey Him, words of wisdom, and advices or praises of Nabi alaihis salaam, mentioning of his miracles so that the love in ones heart increases for him and the inclination of the heart increases toadopt his life style etc. All types of permissable poetry are commendable as long as it does not pre-occupy a person to the extent that all his time is spent in compiling poems and there is no time for recitation of the Holy Quraan and to educate himself on other deeni matters which are more important. (Roohul Ma'aani vol.10 pg. 220 & 226, Surah Ash-shu'araa, verse 219-227) "
