Should I pursue poetry?

I am 11 years old and I love to write poetry. Here is some of my latest work (these are about the same guy):

1.The sun rises and sets
Each day something new
Though most young hearts may never settle
Mine has already picked you
Many thoughts, many dreams, many hopes
Cannot subside
But from afar, I can watch and behold
With my feelings hidden inside
A kid can only give their heart
To one person at a time
Though you don’t want to give me yours
I’m glad to give you mine
I rest my head and close my eyes
And drift to sleep with ease
To live, to love, to laugh each day
Cannot compare to (his name here <his last name rhymes with ease>)

2. One simple crush, one intense love, one innocent yet deep emotional ride
I tried get get the same from you, but sadly you denied
I yearned for you, you reached for another
inside i felt as though I had died
An unreturnable love, for which I sighed and cried
love me, want me, take me please
or at least, let me down with ease

Truthfully, you've got some talent. But it's kind of raw at this stage. I'm 13 and I've won 2 poetry awards so I know what I'm talking about. Watch your syllables in some of your lines to make them fit better, in rhythm. You have really good decription and use of vocabulary in your poems so definetly keep with it. Keep working and you'll go far. Good Luck =)

your poems are awesome, but any type of work that has to do with art is really competitive. so u have to go strong and make sure that noone forces you to stop lol.
