Silly Anna. She's stuck on her poetry again.?

I want the poem to be about...humans, never living life to the extent. How we're losing sight of what really matters in life, and how we're only living the "half life." This is what I have so far, and I'm liking the "A, B, A, B" format.

Living day to day
But never to the extent
As life wastes away
We are oblivious, but content

Our dreams collect dust
As our happy memories fade
And our hearts began to rust
Living life as though it were a masquerade

And we smile half smiles

And I'm stuck.
And Anna would be pleased with whoever decided to help.

She might give them muffins =]

[See how they run]

We act rather shy
as if we don't know
how to speak eye to eye
and keep our secrets so
we don't have the chance
when we seem to have it made
to finally dance the dance
and stop the rain on our parade.
