Tips on how to review short-stories and poetry?

I have an assignment in my class where I have to take stories and poems for other students and give a review, this is including editing their errors.

I know a review is basically outlining for other people the book and its positives and negatives but...it will only be for the writer to read and the teacher to mark.

Any tips?
