Could someone rate/critique my poem.. about poetry?

Here it is. It's an assignment for sophomore Pre-AP English, and I'm not quite the poet. However, some people's were simply "P = Powerful, O = Obligatory, E = Exciting, M = Magic."

"A hollow shell
a blank sphere
promises me through insensible eyes
There is no hesitation as I
select a lifeless orb
a circle of enjoyment
The array of sparkling colors in my hand
I pop the shell on my tongue
I analyze it too long
the crystals melt in my fingers
beads of sugar awaken my senses
the effect is immediate
the particles scream in my mouth
I try another
a new result of a different flavor
I can't stop.
a poem is a
Skittle.

Lines 1-5 are about the lack of interest before a poem is read, lines 9-10 are about overanalyzing a poem and not taking time to enjoy it. I guess one could consider the rest of it a comparison between a drug addiction and enjoying a poem and wanting to read another.
