opinions from guitar people?

right now i have an Ibanez RG 2550z prestige http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=RG2550Z
and i was lookin to buy the ESP EC-1000

i already have a metal guitar (the ibanez) so i dont need another..i want to get that Les Paul tone from my second guitar...will the ESP give me that??? i know it has EMG pu ...but i heard theyre very very versitile...some say theyre only good for metal...so which one is true.
im using a Marshall mg100dfx
