Why would Larry King want Ryan Seacrest to take over his show?

I never even heard of this guy until someone told me he may be taking over Larry King Live. So I google him and looks like he is one of them American Idol guys. Larry King said he would be his first choice to replace him, but went on to say this: “He’s the classic generalist,” King told the Times. “The only thing I don’t know, and I’ve gotten to know him pretty well, is how versed he is in politics, world affairs. Does he read the paper? Is he interested in Iraq? Because if he is, he’s going to be very good.”Larry if he is your first choice to replace you shouldn't he know something besides the joke of reality television? I seriously doubt he is Larry's first choice more than likely he is CNN's first choice to draw in a younger crowd to Larry King Live. If this guy does take over Larry's legacy will be tarnished forever in my opinion. This is preposterous.

I hope not. It would be better for him to have somone more credible like Matt Lauer or Charles Gibson.
