Water boarding is bad, but I'm wondering if it is really equivalent to forced labor until death or the immediate gassing or mass shootings into pits for the rest. I thinkthat there are a great number of people who bandy thelabel 'Nazi' around way too casually.

while i'm not crazy about the idea of comparing bush to hitler, your analogy has teeth. poland was no threat to germany but that's the story the nazis sold to the german people and they bought it. this business with iran is embarrassing to any sane person. the iranians know what will happen if they attack israel. there's no threat there. and if we end up bombing them in another "pre-emptive" strike, the whole region is going to explode.

The statement on Poland would indicate The U.S. was more like Nazi Germany as the preemptive strike motivation was similar and The U.S. is a powerful nation which would make it more similar to Nazi Germany though as far known The U.S. does not have millions of soldiers in the army.The point is taken about Gitmo though as the claim The U.S. does not torture and such are being compared to others by Nazis though not on the scale of The Nazis. There could be comparison between the torture of prisonersin The French Resistance by The Gestapo and that of U.S. treatment of prisoners. There might be those who would say that the prisoners of the U.S. were Al-Qaeda or Taliban buteven so the principle remains the same torture if it occurs is wrong no matter what time frame it is in.
