| Number numbers numbers MATH question!? It doesn't matter because your question assumes that the superdelegates will actually vote as they have announced. They are not bound to cast their vote for the candidate for whom they announced that they would cast their vote. All it will take is one more skeleton coming out of the closet for Obama and the Superdelegates can simply change their minds. |

| Number numbers numbers MATH question!? Well...I'm not sure how to answer. You are asking about pledged delegates, but you have the total delegate count listed (including currently pledged super delegates). Here are the numbers for the straight pledged delegates.Obama: 1599Clinton: 1446There are only 189 pledged delegates left in the remaining 5 contests. For her to catch him in strictly pledged delegates she would need to win 91% of them. This would give Clinton 1618 and Obama 1616.If you want to include the super delegates, then yes the 71 percent is correct. Here we have this.Obama: 1891Clinton: 1719Delegates up for grabs: 189 pledged and 231 super delegates for a total of 420 delegates. For Clinton to over come Obama's lead she needs to win 71% of those 420, that would give her 2017 and Obama 2013.For Obama to get to the 2025 he needs only 32% of the remaining 420 delegatesFor Clinton to get to the 2025 she needs 73% of the remaining 420 delegates. As you can see, this is why everyone is saying the math is not in Hillary's favor. |
