He is cancer free after more than five years so all in all for almost 72 he is healthy and he has longevity on his side in his genes. I'm not surprised that this important story is not discussed in mainstream media very much. It's obviously more important to cover sports and maximize their profits.Clearly, your vote for McCain may be electing whatever VP he chooses. However, the Democrats have lost their footing as well. Many years ago, Richard Nixon proposed a single-payer health care system much like the system that works well in Canada. Obama is proposing a far inferior system that keeps the insurance companies, drug companies, and medical establishment well-funded. The for-profit system will maximize profits to the detriment of US citizen health.The US is 22nd in infant mortality. The average citizen of France lives 3 years longer than an average US citizen. They have a universal health system that works to improve health.I'm pleased that John McCain received timely treatment, however, it's sad that an average US citizen would have died from this melanoma and may not have been able to afford treatment. Why do some people in this country receive excellent health coverage while 22,000 people per year are denied life-saving treatments?

How healthy is Obama who smokes and admits to cocaine use in his past?????? I have two uncles who died in their 40s, what does age have to do with anything? McCain will be healthy enough to kick Obama's butt in November.
