If America was founded on Christian beliefs....? It is obvious you don't understand the first amendment. It was set in place to stop the government from establishing a state religion like the "Church of England"

If America was founded on Christian beliefs....? America is not a christian nation though its clear that the more right wing elements of the (so called) christan movements are exercising a very unhealthy influence.

If America was founded on Christian beliefs....? My interpretation of the First Amendment has always been that the state can not tell you how to worship or what or even that you have to; nothing about religion entering govenment decisions. That being said, I don't want a theocracy in government, either.

If America was founded on Christian beliefs....? I think that a lot of the people who wrote the Constitution had freedom of Religion in mind when writing the Consititution. Consider that they came from diverse religous backgrounds. They had to find common ground that everyone would agree on. One of the reasons people migrated to the new world was to avoid religous persecution in England.

If America was founded on Christian beliefs....? How do you define yourself as a Christian if you don't think God's authority is the basis for all law, to which everyone must be forced to adhere. I mean, if you think God is the greatest authority, then why shouldn't his representatives on Earth be handing down his decrees and punishments?

If America was founded on Christian beliefs....? It's the other way around, the STATE has no business within the Church, not the other way around. There are MANY Christian references in national monuments and buildings, and there are many writings from our founders outside of our Constitution that refer to our Creator. And we are told that man is endowed by his creator with certain inalienable rights... sadly everything is just backwards nowadays with religion and politics.

If America was founded on Christian beliefs....? For anyone who is a Christian, Christianity is supposed to be the base/ measure, from which we are supposed to conduct our whole life. You cannot tell God, "Oh, hold on, I just want to quickly believe in something you abhor, then I'll come back to give you my attention as soon as I agree with something you have said". You either agree with everything He has said, or nothing. God isn't correct some of the time, He is correct all of the time.

If America was founded on Christian beliefs....? if it's not important, The United Colonies of America, The articles of Confederation, and the Treaty of Paris say different. However, I agree with your point.I think the best compromise would be to change it to "civil union" with the same benefits and shut everyone up.lost.eu/21618

If America was founded on Christian beliefs....? America was a place where people could escape religious persecution, which is why the separation of Church and State was specifically put in place. Some of the founding founders were actually Atheists or Agnostic.
