Why do peole belive that in America only African Americans & Hispanic Democrats are Poor?

Are There no Whites that are poor? are there no Republicans that are poor?
I am not talking about relative income levels, I am talking about "Dirt Poor"!
I was not thinking of "Affirmitive action" Since it has been mentioned, Why should a Person of Color have "special preference" over a Poorer White with a better academic record or Asian for that matter?
Nick the Great---Iam aware of the statistics but note that in the question I used the word "Only"!
No, Politicians do not come right out and say this because it is wrong but The Democrats sure like to "Insinuate" it!
