| What, in your opinion, makes the perfect video game?
Basically, when you play a video game, what makes decides between it being an instant classic or a total bust? For me, there are a few things:
-Characters: Video games are like books, in which the best characters are the ones that you can somehow make a connection to personally. Characters also need to be complex, not just a mass of pixels on a screen. This is one of the hardest things for video games to accomplish, since the creators put most focus into gameplay.
-Story: Similar to characters, a good video needs a good story. There are many games that, on paper, look like excellent ideas, but they fail because of a bad storyline. A good story has numerous twists and turns, and it can be replayed numerous times.
-Music: The music helps to create the mood of the scene. A heavy metal rebellion song doesn't fit during a sad scene. Without music, fight scenes would lack excitement and scary scenes wouldn't be so...scary.
What do you think? Ten points for best answer.
