Seeing that Republicans are trying to write in Bob Barr and/or Ron Paul, do they stand a chance with the win?

I took this question from an answerer. I've been hearing a lot about B. Barr and or Ron Paul and folks going to the convention to put them on the ticket, what will this say to McCain regarding the votes he needs?
