| How are Republicans going to handle the economy issue in the general election?
I ask this because: 1-De facto Republican nominee John McCain has been quoted as saying "I really dont know much about the economy". Whatta selling point! 2-About 2/3 of Americans see this country on the "wrong track", "heading into a recession" and almost as many place "the economy" as a top political priority, 3-Doesnt the cost of the Iraq war have to come into play at a time when John Mccain says 100 more years in Iraq is ok with him? 4- A lot of Republicans on this site talk about "socialism" from Democrats but offer no explanations exept a continuation of the status quo, which is basically what you will get with John McCain. 5-The smearing of barack Obama has already gotten pretty thick with Republicans, so that leads me to wonder that will still continue to treat the economy as a non-isuue. 6-Poverty has risen 17% since Bush took office. Are any Republicans even talking about reseversing this trend? Are they even talking about it period? Mahal the Democrats can and will use ONLY non-Bush policies for success! Jay: smartest so far. |

obama said he would raise taxes on the wealthy (approx. $200,000) or more to pay for all the new programs he want to put in place. watch the economy then! companies will take there business elsewhere to avoid the high tax.

I love it when liberals talk about economics. Remember that you heard it here first: The next liberal who ever gets a chance to boost the economy, they will use Bush-style tax rebates, just like the democrat controlled Congress just passed into law. Hint: everyone secretly believes that that is now the only option worth considering because it worked so well the first time. That's how smart conservatives are with economics. They are creative, they are always successful, and they are hands down the smartest on the topic. Not a single liberal in Washington could come up with anything better. Remember: inside every liberal is a Bush-loving conservative crying to escape! |
