| Why are Republicans making their own reality?
I would like anyone who considers themselves to be a Republican to answer this question. Why does it seem more and more that Republicans are making up their own realities, especially with the more power and support they seem to be losing among the American people? For instance:
1. Why do I constantly hear Republicans going on tv saying we need to drill more to bring down oil prices? The facts have been laid out time and time again that 1) Oil companies already have tons of leased land they aren't even actively drilling on. 2) It would take 10 years for that oil to come online to market. 3) The oil in reality would go on the global market and just be a drop in the bucket where supply/demand are concerned. 4) And the real problem is the ability to refine the oil. We don't have enough refineries, and even with that fact the oil companies have been trying to sell off some of the existing refineries. These are facts....this is stuff that isn't made up!
Then comes the issue of Iraq and Afghanistan. The reality is that the Taliban that was residing in Afghanistan were the ones who attached us on 9/11. Osama Bin Laden still has not been captured, and has safe haven in Pakistan.....a country George Bush calls our ally on the war on terror! Meanwhile Iraq has dwindled our resources on fighting the real war on terror in Afghanistant. These too, are facts.
And lastly, among many other things, I find it laughable that Bush, and people that are part of McCain's circle make statements that the economy is fundamentally strong and sound....and that we are a bunch of whiners.....as if the American people are making up this financial troublesome time in their heads. So Republicans, I'd really like to hear some logical defense on this distortion of the facts that has been going on since Bush took office, and now seems to be at the height of ridiculousness. Try to defend it with anything that anyone with 1/2 a brain could call logical!
Yes, Republicans may feel they have no good candidate this year.....but you still voted for Bush, didn't you? You were partly responsible for a lot of the mess we as Americans now face.....not only did you vote for him the first time, you probably re-elected him the second time. Seriously? Defend it!
no, my facts come from facts....facts that have been made known by people with no political motivation. Sure, these talking points my be used by the DNC, but at least it's reality, and not distortion that the Republicans use on a daily basis. I'd much rather listen to MSNBC or CNN to get my "facts" rather than Hannity on Fox, who could hardly be considered a real journalist.
