What happened to the real Democrats, and real Republicans?

Both parties now support the same intrusive acts, non stop interventionism, creating debt killing the dollar, and worst of all a bigger, and bigger government.

I am sad to say that the people have seemingly followed these parties move towards eachother. Democrats who were outraged by the patriot act now support it. They support hundreds of billions of funding for bombs to kill civilians in iraq. Republicans embrace the expansion of the government, and its uncontrolled spending.

Will we ever see the real democrats or republicans again or are people just too busy to care?
