| How does the republican primary system work?
I've read that to become the presidential nominee, they have to win a certain number of delegates. How many do they have to win, and what happens if no one reaches that number?

If no one gets 1191 delegates (the majority), then after the first voting where the delegates are pledged to a candidate, they vote again for whoever they want, and the candidates try to convince delegates to vote for them. They keep voting until someone takes a majority.
