It has NOTHING to do with crossover appeal. Conservatives HATE HATE HATE Hillary so they support Obama in order to keep Hillary out of the race. Now that the GOP is wrapped up many Republicans are crossing over and voting in the Democratic race (in the states where you can vote in either primary). Indiana, where I am from, is one such primary. By then McCain will officially be the GOP nominee so Republicans here will end up either staying home or voting in the Dem race, not the GOP race. Seriously Indiana is always the very first state to be declared on the actual November election night and I bet that Dem votes outnumber the votes in the GOP primary here 5:1 at least. It doesn't mean that the dems will win Indiana, it's that Republicans are crossing over to vote. I know I will. I dislike Obama but I would flip out at the idea of Hillary in office. |

No, Obama is more liberal than Clinton. Just look at the issues. What draws Republicans and Independents to Obama is that he is genuine and honest. Trustworthiness is a trait many people take into account for leadership positions; Clinton is not seen as trustworthy. |

Nah, the republicans know McCain is a lock and they'd rather have McCain go up against Obama, so in open primaries, they're voting for him. I've spoken to two reps from WI today, both voted for Obama but both plan on going with McCain in November. Besides, a vote for Obama is a vote against Hillary.

Fact is, Obama seems to getting more of the moderate, republican AND democratic votes. The total count is the only thing we can know for sure - any other statistic is pure crystal ball speculation and exit polling - neither of which have proved very reliable of late. |

The amount of Republicans he is getting is very small. And they are the most liberal republicans. Obama is farther to the left than Clinton which is hard to do. You might never know because he never says where he stands, he just says "hope," "change," and "future" over and over again and the lemmings buy into it. Says alot about liberal intelligence, or lack there of.
