| mil spouse view/soldiers opinion of Consecutive deployments/one year of "normalcy" in between ?
So it's down to this:
Hubby has to pcs (perm. change in station) and is deciding what duty station comes next. ETS (end time in service) date is in 2010. Currently on deployment...
choosing btwn. doing a 1 year hardship duty tour so he can just be a civilian and ets.
or
have 3 years left on a contract be re-uping so we can be there w/ him instead of having him come back from downrange, be w/ family for 3 mos. and take off again for a whole year on a hardship tour.
If 15 mos. deployments were down to 12 I could handle it more easily, but I don't think I can handle another long deployment especially back to back in such a short time. Anyway, he only has 1 year left so he'd have to extend for 2 more years at a new duty station to bring us along. we could just extend where we're at but that's a no-go b.c. it's the worst duty station i've encountered--even was there as a soldier years ago and it didn't change. so which of the lesser evils do u think would've been easier 4 u?
