Why would the Republicans vote democratic in Texas?

I heard on the news that some Republicans in Texas are actually registering as democrats and voting for Obama. Why in the world would they do this, when according to some polls Obama would defeat Mccain?

Polls don't mean anything at this stage. I have a feeling after the Republicans are through with Obama, he will be lucky to even break triple digits in the electoral vote count.

We have a Texan in office now, do you think that they want more of the same, especially with McCain saying we will stay in Iraq until we win, even if it takes 100 years! I think in the National election your going to see a different story regarding Obama, if he wins the Democratic nomination. Clinton would be a shoo-in against McCain! She will get my vote!
