| for some reason libertarians have tied themselves to the gold standard so no its not exactly correct but similar. Once upon a time, I almost had myself convinced I was a libertarian. Why? Because libertarians "often argue that in a truly capitalistic society, even the poorest would end up better off as a result of faster overall economic growth - which they believe likely to occur with lower taxes and less regulation." I agree with much of what libertarianism stands for There's that one not-so-minor thing standing in the way: Signing up to be an advocate of the gold standard. That's a show-stopper for me. If advocating the gold standard is an implicit requirement of libertarianism—and it seems to be—then I have to stop short, and content myself with being some kind of “hybrid.” |

This is likely why they are generally not taken seriously on a national scale. A lot of people are libertarian and don't even know it. I know I was. Take the World's Smallest Political Quiz at http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz.html that should tell you where you stand. |
