| Need opinions - is it wrong of me to ask family members to do things with my daughter who has Down syndrome?
My daughter is 15 and has Down syndrome. She is sweet, funny, can walk, talk and is very high functioning. It makes me sad that she has only one friend that she gets together with once a week. I'd like to expand my daughter's world and want to ask her aunts and uncles to do things with her - take her to dinner, to the bookstore, have her over to their house - it doesn't have to be expensive or complicated, but just open her world.
Do you think I'm asking too much or expecting too much? I haven't asked my brothers and sister yet, or my in-laws, because I want to get opinions from other people. Thanks for your help.
