Michael M has a spectacular aura about
Voting Republican?

I'm new to voting, but am taking it very seriously. I'm reviewing all of the candidates that I want to vote for in this primary election (Texas).

I am voting for Ron Paul as president; however, I think all of the Republicans running for State Senator are poor choices, because Kilgore is an extremist and Cornyn closely resembles an absent mind-minded, dim-witted Bush counterpart. I read his voting record and every newspaper article pertaining to his support on the "global war on terror," and frankly, I despise it.

So, my question is, as a Republican this year in my state, am I able to vote for a Democratic State Senator (and all of the candidates running for different offices), or am I stuck voting Republican? I thought I could only vote for a Republican president, but everything else is a free-for-all. I only have a week before the voting ends (I want to vote as soon as possible before the early voting session ends).
