With the democrats voting nearly 2-1 over the conservatives, is the race

between Barack and Hillary it? I've seen the numbers and it seems like there's WAY more votes for the democratic candidates than the republicans. Is this because GW3 has done a crap job of running this country and America is sick of it? Does this happen in every election? I feel like i'm missing something. How can the republicans win with only half of their people showing up?

I've heard a couple of people say this, but you are missing a really important part of the equation: the Democrat race is tight, and the Republican race is not. Of course more Democrats are voting! The Republicans have, essentially, already chosen their candidate. There simply is no reason for them to turn out right now. A LOT can change between now and November. How many of them turn out eight months from now is the ONLY number that ultimately matters.

Who Me has a spectacular aura about
I think part of it is Bush but I think the main reason is Obama is bringing in more black voters as well as young college age voters and Hillary is bringing in more women to the polls.

I agree that the Republican nomination will be McCain and so a lot of Republicans may not feel a desire to vote in their primary. The Democrats have had a tight race thus far and so more intensity and so the feeling is that your vote is more important since, up to this point, things have been close.
I also think that many people are sick of the national debt rising [not what most Republicans OR Democrats would like to see] and the situation in Iraq - so people on the bubble may vote for the Democratic candidate this election cycle. Frankly, Obama has brought a sense of hope and excitement to many as he is a fresh face in politics and has not only ATTENDED but also EXCELLED at the USA's best universities.

Seriously, do you young people really believe they are all voting for Obama? Republicans are crossing party lines to vote in the democratic primaries. Do you think that the republicans are crossing party lines and are going to vote for the most liberal Senator Washington has ever seen in the GE? Wouldn't it be more plausible to see that they are trying to lock in the weaker candidate, the one that they can drag through the mud so that they can ensure a win for the Republicans in Nov.? You guys need to open your eyes and see what is really happening. I know you have common sense in there somewhere, stop believing what the media is telling you and start seeing things as they really are.

Maybe. I agree with those who say part of the reason is that the GOP race is effectively finished, but remember the gap was about 6 million on Super Tuesday when this was not the case so maybe it is indicative...

Never undestimate the Dems ability to snatch failure from the jaws of victory.

You morons picked the biggest schlub in the universe last time around...

John Kerry?

And all he had to do was just act presidential and he would've won....but he had to go on and on about what a great WAR HERO he was!

Don't underestimate a Dems ability to wind up saying

'I concede'
