Do Republicans now carry the mantel of JFK's legacy in today's politics?

Can you see Obama or Hillary saying JFK's famous quote. "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." Or do you see a John McCain saying this quote today, What say you?

“Your own story and the American story are not separate — they are shared. And they will both be enriched if we stand up together, and answer a new call to service to meet the challenges of our new century … I won't just ask for your vote as a candidate; I will ask for your service and your active citizenship when I am president of the United States. This will not be a call issued in one speech or program; this will be a cause of my presidency.”

— Barack Obama, Speech in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, December 5, 2007

Which is why JFK's daughter has endorsed him.

I will tell you this, McCain would be more apt to say it than Hillary or Obama who both believe they should be our mama and papa.

Both feel we are not a nation capable of taking care of ourselves. They believe they must do everything from health care to taking care of mortgages.

We the people of the United States are proud and able to stand on our own two feet. We do not need their brand of socialistic government. We do not need to be regulated or controlled. Our souls are not broke and we do not need to be fixed!

McCain will win the presidency in 2008 because he respects the American citizens, and our rights.

He certainly understands freedom more than Hillary or Obama!

only mccain would say something like that.

obamas policies are ALL about the government making the lives of working families easier. his speaches inspire hate, all of his main points are about what is wrong with the current system.

clinton is a lyer who would promise me 3 cows and a palace if she thought it would get my vote.

obviously they don't if Ted Kennedy, the man's brother doesn't think so. JFK meant by that quote don't ask what government can give YOU in tex cuts for YOURSELF, but what you can give more in taxes for your country, i.e. the programs he tried to pass, like medicare, civil rights, etc.
