Why are more Democrats than Republicans showing up to vote in the primaries?

It's almost 5 times as many voters. In Harris county in the Houston area on the first day of early voting, 10,000 voters showed up, compared to 2,000 4 years ago. 1,800 voted Republican and 8,200 voted Democratic.

Is this an omen of things to come for the Republicans?

Absolutely.

Dems, independents and some GOP are desperate for change.

Many feel the GOP does not deserve another 4 years for many reasons.

Because Republicans are voting in the Democratic Primaries to ensure a weaker candidate against McCain.

No. The Dem race is still contested. McCain has already won for the GOP...why vote? It's over.

If you think Republicans will sit at home in November you'd better think again. We will not allow Hillary or Barack to walk away with the Presidency.

Not at all, all part of our master plan. Republicans have their candidate, now we are crossing over and deciding who we want to run against. It is the best political move in History and that is why the networks are having such a hard time with the exit polls being off so much compared to the weekly polling and the actual results. Republicans have put Hillary in this dog fight and it is costing both campaigns millions to continue..... Is this pure brilliance or what?

Well, there's no reason for the GOP to show up. John McCain has it in the bag.
