...regretting it? I think there's a lot of Texans who thought it would be a hoot to vote for Obama against Hillary - but not anymore. Now that it looks like he might actually win, a lot of the Republicans (who will vote for neither in the general election) I know are thinking about voting FOR HILLARY! Shows how nutty this system is.
The reasons I think they're regretting voting for Obama fall into 2 categories. First, there's racism. You have a lot of white voters who don't want to see a black man be President (just like a lot of black voters are voting for Obama just because he's black). Second - and I think more importantly - Obama has shown himself to be a very competent candidate. I think a lot of GOPers now think that McCain's best chance is to run against Hillary.

The GOP has a good track record at winning the presidency. I think they know what they're doing. Obama is easier to beat - it is only the members of the Obama cult that beleive otherwise. McCain is hard to beat.

i think that the republican party is very happy about obama winning because he has almost nothing to run on other than a single speech in 2002 and a lot of times saying "change". he is a joke but the media protects him to the point that hillary cant even attack him for the obvious reasons without severe backlash and stupid claims of racism (like when bill clinton questioned his antiwar stance and the obama croud and media responed by claiming that he was using racism--aka the fairy tale statement). such backlash wont affect a republican and obama will get killed by GOP swifboating efforts in the general election coupled with the fact that not only is his legislative record very unremarkable and small, he comes off as weak when he is directly attacked (having no ability to defend himself but instead relying on freindlies in the press to respond for him). it looks like my fellow dems are yet finding another way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
