This is truly sad. From the responses I am reading, it seems clear that none of these people have any idea how the economy works, they just automatically assume that since a democrat was president during an artificial economic boom that he was responsible for it.

Give me a break, people. Go back to school and learn how economics work. Maybe then you will realize that the president has NOTHING to do with how well the economy does, the people are who control the economy.

You do realize that it was the New Deal policies, under a Democratic president, that helped us get out of the Great Depression?

We need higher taxes if the government has a $10 trillion debt (it will by the time Bush43 is done). And we need less war. Hundreds of billions of dollars; should we spend them fighting a nation-building war with slow progress (that's what we did), or helping our economy back home where we have enough of our own problems?
