In my class we use it to send out "Monday Letters" a letter we send out each week to parents about what we are working on that week.We use it for clip art.The kids use it to play games and watch videos.

There are wonderful kid friendly sites if the school has internet access, like enchanted learning.com. There are age appropriate games that even show the kids how to use a mouse and hit enter, etc. There are some wonderful programs, including playschool puzzles and reader rabbit kinder that kids can be trained to partner up on.Having student authored books, child creates story, teacher types and prints.

More children are being taught about computers from an early age.Games are often used to learn mouse control with helps with co ordination.Learning letters is another plus side with computers, nurseries and reception classes often have keyboard covers that are placed over the keys which show the children lower case letters instead of capitals ( children don't learn capitals until later)There are web sites designed for pre schools www,cbeebies.co.uk is one that is fun but also learning based. ( colours, numbers, sounds) children associate with things that they have seen on the TV so learning is fun
