What do you think of my speech? Please make comments and suggestion?

This is a speech for my 8th grade graduation. I was a new student this year. I need help with my middle section. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go.” that quote by the famous Dr. Suess reflects the movement we are making from simple children to teenagers. Also the transformation of maturity and independence, not to mention much harder classes. I was new this year and I already feel like I have been going to school with these students since preschool. I remember how shy and scared I was about coming to a new school. I regretted leaving my friends not realizing that I could make new ones. This school has showed me how to be myself and that I could achieve anything. My perspective of Ocean City Intermediate School is far different from my classmates. I didn’t grow up in this school but I do have strong memoriesNow as we move on in our educational future, we will no longer be the same class, and we will no longer walk the same halls, but, we leave with our memories, and our achievement which we celebrate this evening. We are prepared; to step forward into high school and achieve using the skills and values we have been taught at Ocean City Intermediate School. On recognition night we can all be proud that we our Ocean City Intermediate School’s class of 2008. Remember today is the 1st day of the rest of your life. Congratulations!Leave comment and suggestions

We are prepared; to step forward into high school and achieve using the skills and values we have been taught at Ocean City Intermediate School. No punctuation needed after prepare- you use this only when you are making a list. That would be more than 2 things and you only have 2 even though the word "and" is used twice.Check your use of commas! Submit it to the grammar checker on word and that should fix things.I think that the wording sounds great. It flows from point to point and stays on the subject well.
