Claireabell has a spectacular aura about
BA in Primary Education or PGCE?

What would be better? to take the BA in Primary Teaching – 3 years
or
I have been offered a place for a BA in Education studies and BA in Psychology and do a PGCE to become a teacher 3 + 1 year

The second option would give me lots of knowledge as I would like a variety but would be at extra cost

With the BA in Psychology and then a PGCE you have "2 strings to your bow" as my Grandma would've said. I did a similar thing and it gives you more opportunities. It is only an extra year too and well worth it I would say. In the future you would be able to investigate the possibility to be an Ed Psyc and I believe there is a shortage of them in many areas.

I suppose you could think PGCE - teacher but if you do the extra year you have a PGCE and a first degree you can always utilise this and even use it in your school employment to gain career progression and extra salary - always a good thing. Good luck on your choice either way. Teaching is a very rewarding career and well worth it!
