If I want to become a high school (secondary education) teacher....?

I want to become a high school teacher. I start college in May. I know I dont have any credits yet, but to make myself more educated, is there anywhere I could volunteer or jobs I could look into while starting my degree, to help me become more knowledgable about teaching? Any suggestions would be helpful, Thanks!
