Why do I want to be a Prince Hall Mason?

I want to be a Mason and they keep asking me why I want to be a Mason I have told them many of times why for the brother hood and everything that comes with it I have heard and read things about it so I do not know much about it but I do want to become one so can someone help me out I really want to start trainging!!!

Tell them you're searching for enlightenment, and don't forget to put the blackface on, the Prince Hall masons are black.

Prince Hall Freemasonry has a very long and interesting history. If you wish to become a Mason, it's best to talk extensively with somebody who's already a Mason, and he should be able to help you. Prince Hall Mason are Blacks and until lately not considered to be of the main stream Masons. This is still a issue since there are Blacks in the main stream Freemasonry.

They keep asking because they want to make sure that not only they know the reason why you want to join, but that you know the reason why you want to join.It is important to be honest. No on knows everything about Masonry, and it won't hurt you to tell them you don't know everything, but what you do know makes you want to join.

Just tell them honestly why you want to be a Mason.As to the Prince Hall issue- from your picture it appears that you are White. If there is another lodge in your area, the Prince Hall masons may just be curious as to why you wish to join their lodge. Although Prince Hall lodges are not restricted they are primarily Black. You should join the best lodge you will feel comfortable in, that is what the interview process is for- both sides find out what they are looking for. Best of luck.

It should and shall not matter what Body of Freemasonary you choose, as Prince Hall Masons are now recognized by just about all Grand Lodge(s). There are all races in Freemsonary. One should never assume anyones color when asking a question nor guide or influence them based upon their color, religion nor ethnicity. Encourage the potential candidate to Research for themselves ALL of the options that are available to them.
