Why can't I join the Prince Hall Mason?

My friend is part of the Prince Hall Mason thing. I was interested in joining but he said I'm not legible. I asked him "why" but he wouldn't tell me.He's very secretive about his Masonic activities.

You are obviously not mediocre enough for them, what I would do is enjoy living and suceeding in life and if they do ask you to join tell them where to get off. They raise a bit of money for charity and perform some odd childish and meaningless rituals.

Are you an African American? I think that is the lodge that African Americans belong to. I could be wrong but I did a quick search and that's what it looks like.

Are you an African-American male? The Prince Hall lodges are predominantly African-American. Usually, it's not that difficult to meet the initial requirements for Freemasonry (they'll look at your character and so forth, but the initial requirements are mostly that you're male and of a proper age to enter Masonry). Are you an adult who's old enough to be a Mason? If you're young, that might be why you're not eligible. Also, you must profess belief in a Supreme Being, so if you openly admit to being an atheist, that may be another reason why it's not working out.

I am a Prince Hall MasonIn order for you to join you have to be an adult, an upright man and you have to believe in God....It is against tradition for an Atheist to become a mason because we read out of the Holy Bible, and conduct prayers...Doesnt matter what religion you are ( except for satanist ) As long as you believe in a Supreme being...Are you qualified? If you are Caucasian and your friend says you cant get in then that lodge is full of shyt. Prince Hall Mason accept any and all races.

Freemasonry is indifferent to truth. It believes that all truths are relative. But God cannot be happy with this, because He has chosen to definitively reveal Himself in the person of Jesus Christ, the only "way, truth and life." Freemasonry does not require its members to believe in Jesus as it teaches about how living a life of Masonic virtue can bring them to heaven. This is why Freemasonry and Christianity are irreconcilable.

As others have said, maybe you're not old enough. Also, maybe he just doesn't think you're right for being a Mason. It doesn't necessarily mean he;s not your friend. I know a lot of guys that I'm good friends with, but I just think they wouldn't be right in the lodge.

I'm guessing you mean 'elegible' not 'legible' :-) since it's unlikely you would be denied admission based on poor penmanshipnonetheless, any mason can vote against you for any reason and no explanation is required to be given to the Petitioner.it could be because you are under age, prince hall lodges do accept white members, however the level of acceptance can, and does, vary greatly from lodge to lodge.Michala's answer has nothing to do with your question, and she is wrong about freemasonry...
