| What social/welfare programs are available in VA to young unmarried mothers?
If you were a 19-year-old with a G.E.D., living in VA, pregnant and unmarried - what welfare programs do they have in place and could you survive comfortably? Let's assume this 19 year old would get a small amount of child support from her loser boyfriend. And let's assume this 19 year old's parents had no intention of allowing her to live at home. Does Virginia's welfare program provide enough support to allow a young single mother and her child to live safely, and provide adequate health care? Links to websites with info on the programs, and how to apply, would be appreciated. (Let's also assume that I'm 40+, and NOT the 19 year old in question!) |
