Can anybody send me some notes for MS visual basic programming?

I am a biginer of in programming in VB. I wannt do some programs using VB. I need to store and handle some data used to do some calculations. Eg. my programe should be able to store pricess of materials, we have to update them when the market prices are changes. and this prices have to be use some calculations of final costs etc. Please can someboby send me some guide lines, text books, codeing of some examples ?
