Could This Help Me Get Into The Movie Buisness?

My dream is to be a professionl actress in films. Not because of the money or the fame, but because i'm a good actress and because it's my passion. I'm undergoing my work experience at the moment. Me and some other students i know are working with a theatre company performing to local primary school and i play the lead in one, and the other is not yet casted. We are also shooting a 3 minute art installation film, the type you see in art galleries such as the tate modern. It's all aboiut symbolism and comparisons between the cucle of a dragon fly and the maturing of adollescents and gang culture. Today i was i told i had gotten the lead role! It is going to be shown at the dragon fly festival in sweden, entered for competitions, have a local showing and be broadcasted on youtube!!!I do have a backup plan as i intend to study psychology at university first and get a job as that. And i do know my chances are slim.Do you think i could use this to achieve my lifetime goal?

Don't get your hopes up sweetie - this might not help alot. Not to say you're not a good actress, but as you said you know - this business is hard to get into.On the plus side, if an agent sees the film with you in it, they might want to sign you up.. But even then it's hard to get roles in films.Just try your hardest, do your best, and most of all, enjoy it! That's what you do it for, anyway! Let yourself hope and dream - because it COULD happen, but don't feel disappointed if theres a little more work involved afterwards to achieve what you want!

You could be on your way but if this really is your passion i suggest going to college for Liberal Arts with a Concentration or even better a minor in Theater. Doing theater is what will get you into movies if that's where you want to go. An excellent college, and my alma mater is Mount Holyoke College and the Five College Consortium, i got my Theater Degree there.

How many proffesional industries will go to art galleries and look at art ? Sorry, hun. You could include it into your resume, tho !
