| Is a psychology degree worth it?
I first wanted to major in psych and become a therapist, but the more I see the problems with managed care, insurance companies, and the fact youre basically placed in some emotionally draining positions, makes me think the field IS NOT worth the bother. Something like a pharmacist seems a better bet. even if it takes more time and money to earn, the payoff longterm is WAY better, you still can help people in many ways, and still wear a funy white coat. so anyone else have thoughts on being a therapist? |

you know, you dont have to become a shrink. there are other types of things you can do that are associated with psychology. If you really dont think you can bear it, then go for what you really want to do. DONT spend all your enrgy on something you dont think will work out in the end. If you think it might be better to do something else, then GO FOR IT theres nothing worse on getting through a degree before realising you dont want to spend the rest of your life doing it. goodluck :] |
