What things related to psychology did "Maverick" from "Top Gun" go through?..?

* I have to apply something to do with psych to a movie and write about it, the one movie I can think of is "Top Gun" and I believe internally Maverick is fighting a head game...if the psych moment applies, it would be operant conditioning, maverick knows if he gives up,,he will never be the pilot he wants to be if he gives yup, the reinforcement is his future and what he can lose.....

thats all I can think of...any more ideas?..

You can apply psychology to any movie really, but perhaps Top Gun is not the best choice. I'd suggest you rent and watch Vanilla Sky (also with Tom Cruise) - there's a lot of psychology in there!
